Getting Here
Knoydart is a remote peninsular on the Scottish mainland, one of the last remaining wildernesses in Great Britain. It can only be reached by sea or a 16 mile hike on foot. You will make your way to Knoydart via Fort William and Mallaig, arriving there either by car or by train.
The Caledonian Sleeper from London Euston leaves at 9pm and arrives at Fort William in the morning. At Fort William you change for Mallaig, choosing, if you wish, the ‘Harry Potter’ steam train.
There is only a passenger ferry operating between Mallaig and Inverie on Knoydart. To find out the fares and timetables visit Western Isles or call 01687 462233. This is not a car-ferry - you leave your car in one of the car parks in Mallaig and borrow our 4x4 vehicle for getting to and from the house in Airor, down the 7 mile single track road.
